Duplicate Folders are 0 after import from CSV

Hello,

A few days ago, I ran a scan of all my duplicate music files. Duplicate Cleaner Pro 3.2.1 found 11,460 duplicate files. I purchased the PRO version because I felt that in my situation I would need the ability to remove duplicates based on which folders the dups reside in.

Well, it took about 12 hours to complete the scan, and everything worked fine. At the time, I was not able to proceed with deleting the dups until I discussed the issue with someone. Until that happened, I decided to export the duplicate list to an external csv file so that I could reload the list and perform the deletion at a later time. I just tried doing that and while the duplicate list loaded OK, I cannot seem to get the duplicate folders tab to refresh. Must I perform a rescan or is there another way to refresh this tab after loading the csv file? I really don't want to do another 12 hour scan!

Thanks much in advance for any guidance.

You can't currently rebuild the duplicate folder list after importing a CSV file. This is because the CSV of the duplicate files would contain incomplete information about the folder structure, so there would not be enough information to rebuild the duplicate folder tree.

The program does retain the scanned data session (and checkmarks) after closing though, so it is possible to shut down and come back to the data (files and folder) at a later date. In you case this session will already have been lost if you've ran another scan, or imported a CSV.

Unfortunately you'll need to rescan to get the folder list back!

Thanks for the clarification. I was afraid that was the case.

Perhaps this could be considered as an enhancement in your next major release.
