Option to not save file list?

Post by sebupic »

Hi:
Is there a way to have the program not save a list of files found upon closing? I use the program to scan multiple archives against a main database. Each time I start the program, it shows a list of the final results of the previous scan session, which is completely irrelevant as it is from a different archive. Also, closing the program is slow as it is saving the results of the completed scan session. Is there a way to prevent this? I know I can delete the duplicatecleaner.data file, but this is an extra step plus it also deletes window size, scan location and language preferences. Any help would be appreciated!

This is a great program, the best of its kind out there!

Many thanks!

There isn't a way to turn this behavior off currently.
It's a good idea though, and I've added this to the 'to-do' list! Thanks.

Though this causes much slower shutdown & restart.

Thinking it should be optional, or at least the reload on restart.
More like the way Firefox may act.
Option to save on exit.
Then on reopen, you are afforded the option (to manually) restore last session.

The extra time in saving on exit probably is the lessor issue.
Might even be able to do that in a background thread once the UI has closed?
(But that could also lead to attempt restart prior to having fully exited.)

Not sure why its taking so long on restart unless its verifying that there is no stale data?
