Post by DigitalVolcano »

Duplicate Cleaner Pro 3.1 is out!
http://www.duplicatecleaner.com/download.html

Changes:
-Major engine update, now database driven.
-Session along with duplicate file/folder list and marks is retained upon exiting/starting the app
-Filter the list by Marked/not marked files and groups
-Filter the list by Path, group or filetype
-Duplicate folder tree has marked folders indicated - is synced with file list
-Columns in duplicate folder tree
-Hide/Show list columns (right click on header)
-File and folder icons shown in list
-Command line switches supported, for automation of scans. (See manual for commands)
-Various bugfixes and tweaks

Note you will lose your settings from previous versions - save a profile before updating if you want to keep you folder list/settings.

Much faster in program load.

Though this causes much slower shutdown & restart.

Thinking it should be optional, or at least the reload on restart.
More like the way Firefox may act.
Option to save on exit.
Then on reopen, you are afforded the option (to manually) restore last session.

The extra time in saving on exit probably is the lessor issue.
Might even be able to do that in a background thread once the UI has closed?
(But that could also lead to attempt restart prior to having fully exited.)

Not sure why its taking so long on restart unless its verifying that there is no stale data?

That's nice.

(Other stuff I haven't really explored, yet.)

Excellent! I've been running into troubles with the old version, the ones described in my previous comments, for months and this one seems to have resolved all of them so far. This feels like going from 2 to 3 did for me.

The only problem I've noticed so far is the ability to sort by File Type by clicking on the column in "All" mode is broken. I am able to sort by any other category but not by file type. Clicking does nothing the button has somehow been broken.

Updated to 3.1.1 with a couple of bug and efficiency fixes. Note to get the most out of this update you'll need to uninstall 3.1.0 first.

Comp9 - The file type column isn't sortable as it is generated on the fly to save memory.
