Duplicate cleaner is not reconizing folders whose foldername starts with a dot (".")
Is there any way to force recognition?

It does process 'dot' folder ok, the problem is that they don't appear in the standard folder picker pane for some reason. You can add these folders to the search using the 'Select Folder' button, which brings up a folder picker which does recognise these names, or you can type the name in manually by right clicking on the folder list and selecting 'Enter folder name manually'.

Yes. I now see that duplicate files in dot folders have been processed correctly. So that's no problem

In my case that would not be necessary, since I now see that the dot folders are included anyway.
However, I now see that the "Select folder" button is also the way to *exclude* folders. I don't think this is mentioned in the Help file
This is an excellent tool. I've just recovered 100 GB from my 400GB external drive simply by deleting identical files
(Of course, that shows how lazy I am. But I can now be lazy and use Duplicate Cleaner

)
