Hangs or does not hang?

Post by WiKo »

I am comparing the content of 2 big HD volumes.
Calculation of hashes (MD5 partial) (Berechnung von Hashes (MD5 partial) is OK for both volumes.
Calculation of hashes (MD5) (Berechnung von Hashes (MD5) is completed for one volume but seems to hang for for the other.
Time elapsed is about 4h, time to go 1d 6h 38m. File counter for this volume shows no change over more than 1 hour.
Prevent Windows from sleeping during scan is activated.

Useful advice will be appreciated very much.

It's unlikely to be hung, it may just be calculating hashes for some very large files and moving slowly. Try leaving longer and see if the estimate changes (hopefully it should be done by now!)

What are CPU & RAM usage (for DC)?
2 big HD volumes
How big is "big"?
How many files are we talking about?
How about file sizes? Are you talking about individual TB sized files or the like?
Are the two drives local, or is one on a LAN, a slow USB or anything like that?
