Column Width Sizing, does not retain Column Widths, necessarily

Post by therube »

Column Width Sizing, does not retain Column Widths, necessarily (& or has other issues).

If you resize a column "to fit",
(kind of double-clicking on a column divider - which does kind of look to work, & "smartly" at that)
if you then quit
& then re-open
column widths are - different
- very likely sized way too small?

Resize 'Group' to fit.
with < 10,000 items, the column is sized to fit the word, "Group". The word Group is "wider" then "9999", so a hair bigger then needed, but the header does fit correctly - all that is expected (& good).

Quit. Re-open.

Group is sized to 'G', 1 character.
(Actually it is ' G ', so 3 characters, in which case you're "good*" to "999")

"Good*".
Well, well below 999, at 100 actually, 'G', Group, then runs into the Size column.
So from 100 on out, Group/Size is essentially 1 column.

Likewise, if you were to set the Size "to fit", it will run into File created column...

Column widths should be able to be resized, smartly, & should retain that sizing, until changed, again.
Should not reset or set to some odd unwanted setting on program restart.

Looking into this - seems there is a problem storing the column size when it is resized by double-clicking
