Setting up multiple instances with windows 10

Post by Ceephis »

Dear support And all other tech gurus out there

I just purchased this program as it has been on e of the finest ways to clean up my burgeoning backups

However I saw that there was some sort of way to run multiple scans and cleanups at once

is there a walk through or an instruction on how to set this up safely as I dont want to corrupt the program or what it is trying to clean up

Thank you all for your help and time

The easiest way to run multiple copies in the current version is to use a different batch file to start each instance:

Example
-Create the text file instance2.bat
-This file needs to contain a line calling the program with a unique database folder location:
-Example batch file content:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Duplicate Cleaner 5\Duplicate Cleaner 5.exe" /data "D:\Data\Instance2"
(Note no backslash on the end of the instance path)
-Then repeat this for each instance. Each instance will be like a separate clean installation.

Note if you are scanning the same drive from different instances it won't be any faster.

Thank you I will give this a try and get back to you

Thank you also for the same drive warning

I do have a nas that I am working on and would also like to scan my pc as well

your app uses so little resources that it shoudl be able to run a few instances well I would think

Thanks again

Seems to be working great

Thanks again for such an amazing product.

Dont know why something with this functionality was not around about 20 years ago but thanks for finally making the best duplicate killing software around.
