Not sure if this is covered by your initial post, but I would like to have a way to exclude or protect folders and subfolders of my choice (instead of just C:\Windows or C:\Program Files).

Thanks for suggestions all. Have been short on time to work on DC of late, but it just needs a final push to get it into beta.

kapoue3 - thanks for the offer. DC1.3 will have ini files which contain the localized text for each language making creating new language support easy. Will email you.

Excuse me if this was already posted, I didn't see it:

When DC v1.2.0 warns of "...All Copies of Duplicate Files Marked to Move...", can the program highlight, embolden or 'hint' to which groups those are, rather than the end user scanning through the several thousand Marked to be Moved groups?

Thank you in advanced. Kind Regards.

Kitty - good point thanks. I'll try and make this less cryptic.

hiho, thanks for all the hard work, DC really comes in handy!

If it's not to big of a problem, I would absolutely *love* to see two features included:

- after scanning, I would like to edit the columns shown on the duplicate files list. for instance when scanning my mp3 folder, I really don't need the "file type" column, and I would like to see "title" and "length" on the 2nd and 3rd position. so the possibility to enable/disable and order columns would be neat.

- is there any chance we could get a portable version? :)

anyways, keep up the good work,

thanks a lot!

Hi,

Is there a way to save the list of duplicate files that is generated? I cannot finish going through the duplicate files in one sitting, so I close the file and it shows up on the list of open files/programs at the bottom of my screen. Often, the next day, the file has disappeared, so I have to generate it again. That is a waste of time.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Pat G - You can export and import the list as a csv file from the 'File' menu.

It's difficult to distinguish grouping sets!

Many of the colors don't have enough contrast: the light brown/purple/greenish-yellow/grey are practically the same in this regard. I have to look over at the grouping number to be sure of the set.

Logically, if you're distinguishing alternating sets, you only need TWO colors. More than that is unnecessary and implies some relationship that isn't there.

The conventional way is to use black text and alternate a white and a light color background for each set. This method has been used in accounting ledgers and day planners WAY before computers, and people have come to expect it.

Thx!
