Scan fails, "Error in main scanning process"

Post by Clairvaux »

Hi,

Scanning fails with the following error :

Error in main scanning process: Could not load file or assembly 'AcoustID, Version=1.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=nuN' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

This happens only when comparing byte-by-byte, not when using MD5.

Scan starts, the error message appears a short time into the process, I click OK, a box displays results after an abnormally short while (~ 15 seconds with a 264 GB folder). It says xx xxx groups of duplicates, but 0 files have duplicates. The Duplicate Files Tab does not appear.

Thank you for your help. (This is my first attempt at running the program, so I may have missed something. Free edition, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.)

This is a bug - there's a file missing in the installer which only becomes apparent when using 'Byte mode'

I'll get an updated installer uploaded shortly and will post the link. Sorry about that!

You can get the updated installer here. It can be installed over the top of the previous installation (don't uninstall) if you want to keep your settings.

Splendid. Thank you so much. Very interesting software, by the way.
