File selection niggle

Post by Alan »

Greetings. I've been using this great little prog for a while but today ran into a minor problem. So... Other than manually selecting all the files to be deleted how do I deal with this? In one directory there are say, 500 files (250 sets of dupes). All dupes are identical, and have the same name. Except that the second file in each set has a number in brackets appended. Those are the ones I need to delete. Is there a way? Cheers...

You could try entering *(*) in the 'Select by Pattern - In Filename' section in the selection assistant. This will select everything that contains brackets. Append another asterisk * if the brackets are within the filename.
