"Don't scan system files / folders"

Post by abrasion »

Can someone please explain this precise option in the program to me?

I know it won't scan +S (system) files if this is ticked, but what about folders? Is this SPECIFICALLY about the attribute of +S to a file / folder or will it specifically omit the C:\Windows / system32 (etc?)

I just found it had not matched some MP3 / music directories due to "albumart.jpg" and what have you being marked as system files.

It just omits files or folders that have the system attribute set on them.

To ignore the Programs Files and Windows folders in the scan you can check the two 'Protect' settings in the 'Options' drop down menu. This option also prevents those two paths from being included in any file removal operation as well.

Ok thanks for that. I was 2/3 in the middle of submitting a bug report as I'd done some testing and identified some files I knew to be identical and then noticed they were +S +H attributes, totally threw me for a loop and indeed was the source of the issues I was having.
