Today, TextCrawler allows the user to select the files that replacement applies (Find, check the files, Replace). I would like to also have the ability to accept or reject individual replacements.
My editor provides this feature by asking the user to approve each replacement (Yes or No). Therefore, I don't use TextCrawler very much. But with this feature, I would use TextCrawler much more (I am a professional computer programmer).
I have a suggestion on the TextCrawler user interface for this new feature, which would be an improvement over my editor. I observe that I accept more than I reject replacements in general. Therefore, it would save me time if I only had to take action for the rejected replacements.
I suggest that TextCrawler puts a checkbox next to each item in the Find results, with each checked by default. The user then deselects individual items to which he/she does not want Replace or Extract to apply.
