Copying .txc files

Post by cferri »

I created a .txc file on one PC and wished to use it on a second one. I thought I could do this by simply copying and pasting the text from the file into a new .txc file created in a text editor. However, when I tried to use the file on the second PC, it was not recognised by TextCrawler and would not load into the program. Why did this not work? After using the batch editor and recreating the commands on the second PC, I saved the .txc file with the same name and it worked. Opening the new file in a text editor it looked no different from the one that failed.

The TXC files need to be saved as Unicode text files (UTF-16 LE) otherwise they won't load. I'm guessing this is your issue!

For reference, load a regular txc file into a decent text editor (e.g. NotePad++) and check the Encoding column.
