confusing message - DC prevents selecting/deleting originals

Using DC 2.1 ...
I have used on an entire drive and it listed some files. (fantastic job)
I went through the entries, and on some entries of my interest, I did right-click, "mark">"mark all duplicates in folder".
Then, after I accumulated some such files marked for delete, I clicked the "File Removal ..." button and proceeded to click the "delete files" button.
Then it gave me a strange message - which said something like ... "warning ... xxx files in ALL groups will be deleted... do you want to continue..." - It was misleading... not sure if it meant some originals were also deleted ...
I hit OK.

I wasn't sure if it meant some originals were also selected and deleted...

I need to know so as to find out what I lost and how I can recover from my backups.

This message means you have selected all the files in a particular group (ie all copies of a file). If you get this you should go back and check using the 'Groups with all files marked' tool.

The 'mark all duplicates in this folder' tool will mark everything found in that folder. If you have an entire duplicate group contained within that folder you will get this situation.
