External component has thrown an exception )o:

I consistently get the following error at a certain point in large scans.

"Error in Scan Process: External component has thrown an exception."

It usually happens either when I get into the hundreds of thousands of files scanned, or when the list of found duplicates exceeds a couple of thousand. I recall having scanned fewer items with a much higher concentration of duplicates, successfully deleting tens of thousands at a time. Now, when scanning much longer lists, reaching a couple of thousand found duplicates will crash the scan.

Does anyone know how to avoid this, or what the offending external component might be?

I've split up large folders and excluded deep dirs with tons of files and wacky names to ease demands on resources and error handling. I have yet to find the sweet spot, but I'm burning up my platters repeatedly recomparing my "keeper" dirs with the smaller chunks yet to be scanned.
