Import Format

Post by Eaton »

The option to export and import the duplicates is truly genius. I've found it EXTREMELY useful to export, manipulate in Excel, and then import back. However, there is one annoying hitch: Excel drops the quotation marks denoting text when saving in the csv format. This means that I have to append a needless character (usually an asterisk) to each side of each field before exporting, then open in WordPad and mass replace. That can take a LONG time if we're talking about a very large file, and besides, it's a needless extra step. Could you PLEASE add the ability to import files directly from Excel, whether csv files without quotation marks, xls files, or whatever?!

There's an excel macro here which allows you to save with quotation marks, among other options -
