Scrollbar update causes heavy fog when scrolling with two fingers

Post by Callistemon »

Version 5.0.12 had a regression where dragging the actual scrollbar did not adjust the view until released. When the list is extremely long, it is difficult to predict where it will end up. 5.0.13 fixed this, but scrolling with two fingers now causes heavy white fog to cover the lower half of the window. This occurs even with high performance CPUs and GPUs. Although it is faster to not constantly update when dragging the bar, that shouldn't be relevant to the performance of two-finger scrolling, which always updates constantly regardless of whether the bar updates. There was supposed to be a setting, but I can't find it anywhere. The solution isn't to toggle between breaking movement or being slow, but to consume more resources. The only reason to purchase expensive CPUs and GPUs is to maximize performance with your favorite applications, of which this proprietary software is one of.

The setting is not under the settings tab, it is under the dropdown in the results tabs. When "smooth scrolling table" is disabled, it functions properly when scrolling with two fingers. The row spacing is different depending on the setting, and when "smooth" scrolling is enabled, entire stripes are heavily vibrating while scrolling. When "smooth" scrolling is disabled, the stripes remain in the same location on the screen, and only the text information updates. It is much smoother that way, and easier to notice when something actually changes.

In the "Duplicate folders" tab, the scrollbar updates while moved, and the rows remain clear while using two fingers. There is no need to toggle between two settings. The "Duplicate files" and "Remaining files" tabs can use the same system.

It now scrolls clearly and easily, with the scrollbar updating continuously when dragged. There is no more toggling between foggy and stuck, it now does both! This is fixed in the Duplicate Files tab of 5.14.0 / 5.0.14 / 5.0.0.14 or whatever the actual version number officially is.
