Feature Req: find a cropped (or rotated) image

Post by turnkit »

Here's my use case:

I have video footage and I am trying to "overcut" - long story short, I need to find a particular still image amongst many other images.

But the still I have is from a lower quality version and often cropped.

So I exported all my video sources as stills into one folder and brought them into Duplicate Cleaner and told it not to compare to itself.

Then I took the images I wanted to find and put them into a 2nd folder.

But I couldn't get it to work. The new image was rotated or cropped so the original couldn't be found.

Any suggestions?

You can search for rotated images in image mode, but it doesn't currently do so well with cropped images. lowering the match tolerance may help but you might get false positives.
