Duplicate Cleaner Pro 4.1.4 & HashTool 1.2.01 CANNOT see some files.
But Windows 10, WinMerge, Syncovery and TeraCopy CAN see those files.

When first discovering the problem,
- In file properties, the files were prefixed by \\?\ i.e \\?\D:\Folder\Filename.pdf This appears to mean that the total path was over 260 character or other characteristic that required alternate file handling by Windows.
- Windows would not rename some of the files. (Both from clicking the file name and in properties failed.)
- pdf files would not be found when opening with the new MS Edge.
- Duplicate Cleaner Pro 4.1.4 & HashTool 1.2.01 CANNOT see the files.
- but Windows 10, WinMerge, Syncovery and TeraCopy CAN see those files.

So, I copied the files to a FAT32 USB drive.
- Now the \\?\ prefix does not appear
- Windows can rename the files
- MS Edge can open the files
- But Duplicate Cleaner Pro 4.1.4 & HashTool 1.2.01 CANNOT see the files UNTIL I rename them. After I rename the file, then HashTool & DCP CAN see it.

These particular files are simply pdf saves of web pages that aren't important and not seeing the files mean DCP can't accidentally delete files (I hope), so I'm not stressed about this but it's strange and I will have to find a strategy to with it if I find more files with this problem.

In this screenshot, after copying to the FAT32 USB disk, you can see that HashTool could not find the file even though it was open in MS Edge. (This is before renaming the file. After renaming, HashTool could open it.)

If needed, I have more screenshots of Duplicate Cleaner Pro not finding the files. (Appears that I can't upload files here, only link to URLS...)

Yes, searched subfolders. Only comparing file extension so that all files should be duplicates.

(Your screenshot is on your computer, only, so you have to host it somewhere, Posting a screenshot on the forum.)

Explain that?
You copy the file to a flash drive, F:\TMP\Filename.pdf, & DC does not see it?

Are you running DC & the other programs, some "as Administrator", some as a "normal" user, or are they all running the same?
