Find same picture but different Exif data?

Post by brooksr »

1. Is there a way to find pictures (into a group) where the pictures are the same but one has Exif data added (like tags)?

2. Is there a way to find pictures (into a group) where the pictures are the same except one has had a caption/text added?

Thank you.

Image Mode in Duplicate Cleaner Pro will do this - you can compare just the image and it will ignore the tags and exif data. Depending on your settings, Similar Image mode can ignore captions if they aren't too large.

Thank you for the reply, but I don't want to ignore tags and exif data.

I want to find files which have the same image but one has exif or tags and one doesn't. Then I want to delete the file that is missing the exif or tag.

Can I do that? If yes, how?

There is no easy way to do this with v4 as to display tags in the list they also have to be matched up.
The will be possible in v5.0 - you can add tags for display/selection and so be able to select the files where the tags are missing.

The ability to select based on Exif data will be an amazing bonus for me...

I need V5 now :-)
