Speed improvements in 4X?

I've been using 3x many years, and I like it a lot. Is there a meaningful improvement in multithreading in 4x? I've got a 12 core CPU and 3x doesn't seem to make much use of the extra cores.

Depending what scan type you are doing and the breakdown of file sizes and types, version 4 can be much faster in some situations. In other scenarios it is a similar speed. The upcoming version 5.0 has more multi threading, but we've found in most cases the main bottleneck is disk I/O and threading doesn't improve things particularly.
