I have tried three to four such "clone-spy" programs, all without success. The latest "fast duplicate finder" took about 24 hours to find and list all the duplicates in a 1.45 TB drive, only to crash when it got to 95% done, twice. And as usual, you were also going to have to manually select which files to delete. I don't have that kind of time, even though I am retired.
So, having a one and a half terabyte external drive to scan, I kept looking and finally found this program and installed it, and though it balked a bit at times (becoming unresponsive) due to the heavy load, it recovered each time and completed the job as I wanted it done, which was to be able to scan several different folders on the drive but exclude one folder from deletion of duplicates, and it was just a matter of tweaking settings. I mean, this thing does all the work for you!
I don't think I have any need for the paid version, so I'm a happy camper!
