Hardlinks on read-only files

Post by perdigoto »

Hello!
I read somewhere here in the forum that version 4 would solve the problem that arises when the user tries to create a hardlink from a read-only file.

I wonder if this option was added to version 4 or if there is any way to tell DC to create hardlinks even in read-only files.
Thank you very much for your attention.

The latest version plays nicer with Hard-links and readonly files - it won't leave temporary files if it fails. You need to make sure the files you are checkmarking for hardlinking aren't read-only though/

Current process:
  • If the checkmarked file is Read-only: No hardlink, shows error in log.
If the file it is being linked to is Readonly: Process works, hardlink successful
Both R/O: No hardlink, shows error in log.
