Feature request: Concept of a Session or Job

Post by phila »

I've been working on a de-duping a load of photos. DCP found the dups some time ago and since then I've been working through them, deleting, moving etc. But now a new task has come up to sort out dups between a couple of instances of DropBox folders that got created. I realise I can export and re-import various settings, but it's not really clear from the File>commands which ones must be saved of profile/files/folders lists (all of them, I guess). I would like a simple one-click action that saves the current state to a named 'session' file giving confidence that I can later restore the old session from it. This will enable me to clear up my DropBox dups mess then return to clear up more of my photo dups.

Given this, it would be nice there was a File>Open command that offered to open a previous Session, or start a New-named one. Similarly The File>Exit command would offer to save the current session to a New name, or Overwrite the current name, or Abandon it.

A "Session" could alternatively be thought of as a "Job".
