Duplicates in Zip file not detected

I have a bunch of zip files (many!) created by Microsoft Backup a couple of years ago. I was hoping to use Duplicate Cleaner Pro 3.2.5 to root out unneeded duplicates. To my surprise it was not finding any. So I extracted one of the zips directly and pointed DC just to that zip and the extracted directory. No dups (matching any size/date, *.*, contents match). Then I extracted another zip from elsewhere and DC found all the dups. Why would DC not find dups in a zip from Microsoft Backup? They are not encrypted.

More info: When I copied the zips out of the folder created by Microsoft Backup, they worked fine. It seems Microsoft Backup set some "special permissions" on the folder for "CREATOR OWNER". Maybe that's why the folder gets a special icon. But as admin I can go in and do anything I want, so what are these "special permissions" that keep DC from doing its job?

OK, I found an answer. I hope you'll still post this for the edification of others: I have to run DC as admin. That simple. I wish there was some indication in DC that this was necessary.

Thank you for passing this on.
