Re: Some enhancements/features

Glad you like TC. Thanks for the suggestions - they sound reasonable to me, and I'll look at getting them into v2.3.

Re: How to search in folder containing specific files format

Yes, you can just click on the box and type the filter in
Example:
*.tpl

You can use a semicolon to add multiple filters:
*.tpl;*.inf

hope this helps!

Re: silent install

Sorry for the late response on this one! TextCrawler 2.x has a different installer (NSIS) to 1.x (InnoSetup) so that is why the flag has changed. NSIS supports /S for silent, but I don't think it is fully implemented in the current TextCrawler setup. I'll look at getting it supported in the next Tex...

Re: A device attached to the system is not functioning

DC sometimes has problems with really long path/file names (>250 characters), as does Windows (depending which functions you use). We'll look at getting it to handle these in the next update.

Re: Bugs for 2.1 and feature requests (caution, long post)

Sorry you had issues with 2.1. I'll review the 'apply on to selected files' feature. It worked upon testing, but I will try it with more and different cases. Version 2.1 and above should save the checkmarks in the csv file. With bug 2, DC uses a Microsoft control called a ListView, and this has inhe...

Re: Hard links - do they replce the deleted files?

I think the reported size of the folders still show the total file sizes, even though they are hardlinked. The amount of space used on the disk should go down though.

Re: How find Duplicate Folders ?

It should show the duplicate folder list automatically. Is the refresh button on this tab greyed out?
Are any other buttons greyed out, such as 'File Removal'?
I'm working on the theory that it has hit an error at the end of the scan and not completed properly.

Re: Duplicate Cleaner 3.0

Thanks for the warning Leea - I'll get in touch with Symantec. And glad you are liking the new DC!

FYI, I've just uploaded another update (3.0.3) with an important bugfix relating to Audio tag comparison.

Re: Duplicate Cleaner 3.0

Hello, At that point a message pops up saying "Error building Duplicate Folders tree: Value was either too large or too small for an Int32" At this point I can't access any of the duplicates to remove them. Thanks for the bug report - we've now fixed this issue (displaying folder trees wi...
