Re: Recycle Bin Comparison
There is no need to restore any files from the Recycle Bin. Sure, you can compare. Just open the Recycle Bin (C:\RECYCLER) from the folder tree & add it to your Search Path. Add the the other path in question & compare. Content would give the most accurate results. Name would not work becaus...

Re: feautre request - Exclude folder
OK, neat, but not exactly intuitive. And now I understand what it means when you go to drag a subfolder of an already existing folder into the Search Paths box & it says, "This folder is already included in the (Within C:\Example\). Do you want to specifically exclude it from the search?&qu...

Re: failure to detect duplicates
File type should not matter, particularly. MD5 is known to have collisions. Byte level is going to be the most thorough, & if that says they are dup's, then you would think they are. If you ... oops. That's backwards. --- If byte level shows as dup's then you would think that MD5 would too, unle...

Re: DC 2.1.0-Error setting up folder tree
Only guessing ... Run CHKDSK. See If that competes without mentioning any problems. As a test, copy DuplicateCleaner.exe & lang_XX.ini into a new directory, then click on DuplicateCleaner.exe. If that works, then I'd suspect an issue with your existing DuplicateCleaner.settings file? Only guessi...

Re: external devices containing further photos.
If all the files were uniquely named, you could get a file name list of all your external device backups & compare that against to your E: archive. If E: has everything, I would simply back it up to another HDD or external HDD, & just keep the rest of your backup medias as an extra precautio...

Why? What kind of NAS? The folder tree on the left hand side only lists local or mapped drive letters. But on the right, if you click the 'Select Folder' icon, you are shown a standard Windows style dialog, including Entire Network, where you should be able to browser to your NAS. Alternatively righ...
