Hash cache doesn't notice when files are replaced with different data in filename collision
Hash caching uses Date Modified to determine if the files have changed. If the date modified has not changed, the files are not hashed again because it is assumed the files couldn't have changed without affecting the date modified. This isn't necessarily true, as silent corruption can change the fil...

Re: [incorrect issue, removed]
Sorry for the stupidity. I mentioned deletion from the context menu, so I should have noticed that. Do I need to purchase another license to compensate for possible damaged sales from defamation? Wouldn't it be better if the key was Shift + Backspace instead? Delete will always be frightening at fir...

Re: Excluding all files in on a drive from Selection Assistant
That was for version 5. For version 4, the internal HDD should have Protected to Yes, Master to Yes, and Scan Against Self to No.

Re: Thumbnail view is not available in unique tab
It was dragging at 100% memory usage, and took several seconds for the screenshot tool to fade in choppy when pressing Windows + Shift + S. This is with an NVMe SSD. After it resumed, the memory usage dropped to 45%, and then Duplicate Cleaner 5 crashed with the following error reports. 37.457 GB of...

Re: Thumbnail view is not available in unique tab
So this time HWiNFO was started before inserting the defective disk, so it could run without causing an I/O Device Error during detection. The memory quickly reached 99%, and Duplicate Cleaner processes were paused with PsSuspend64. After it resumed, Duplicate Cleaner showed an error " The exce...

Re: Excluding all files in on a drive from Selection Assistant
Yes, set the internal HDD to Protected (lock icon turns red), and set the internal HDD to External Only (under the Find Duplicates column). If the internal HDD isn't set to External Only, there will be groups of duplicates within the internal HDD, which would all be protected.

Re: Thumbnail view is not available in unique tab
I did end up using the preview column last night. Because there were RAW images, it became slow and stuck while scrolling, and the memory usage reached 99% multiple times. The size of all results combined, in full resolution, could fit in the 16 GB of memory. Because of that, I tried to launch HWiNF...

Pause only one disk while continuing to scan the other disk
I know this is getting quite excessive to ask, but I have 4 instances running, and have some paused to increase the rate of others. When multiple scans are running, it pulls the actuator arm in multiple directions at once and slows the overall speed. Some of the instances are only scanning one of th...
