Re: Path selection options for branch tagging

> it doesn't work it's way up the tree Not sure what you mean by that? It should be marking all DUPs in "c:\files I am pretty sure I can delete - red files!\" & subdirectories there of. (If you started your marking in a subdirectory of that directory, then no it would only mark files b...

Re: Problem with external HD

Does the external drive have a "trashbox" (separate & different from Windows Recycle Bin)? My Buffalo NAS does. The drive itself has a setting for this trashbox to be enabled or not. If enabled, deleted files end up in this trashbox rather then being purged directly. What types of file...

Re: Path selection options for branch tagging

As a start, while a "Red" folder has focus, Mark All Duplicates In This Folder (or Folder Tree) would be one method to use. That would mark all DUPs found in the Red folder - only. (If it matters to you, you would want to check that 'Groups will all files marked' had nothing listed.) And y...

Re: By all that is good & right please help me fix this!!!

Perhaps a program like Tags 2 Folders could help, somewhat.

Assuming the files have tags, build the structure on your HDD, then merge it over to your External Drive.
There would obviously still be mismatches, but perhaps better then nothing.

Re: Deleting duplicate file numbers with the file extensions

What were your search parameters? Suppose you were only checking by Content. Content alone will find duplicates regardless of any file name. So select Content AND Name. That would find the same exact files - in different directories. (Again, I suppose that is where your dups are to be found?) That w...

Re: Pro Limitations Should Be Noted

Because people (myself included) don't read, don't pay attention. And even if it is there, in the manual, on the registration screen, one is not likely to look in the manual, at least not initially, & very likely to miss it on the registration screen. I don't know how long the limitations have b...

Pro Limitations Should Be Noted

Pro version, running in Trial mode, Limitations Should Be Noted. Such as: You cannot remove files from group numbers greater then 100 in the Trial Version To me, such limitations should be listed, clearly, at the very least on the download page. (Not to mention here, Duplicate Cleaner 3.1 Manual .) ...

Re: Fails to install

(Too slow ;-).) Weird how your link shows an older date, & mentions SP1, yet they have this link too http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22 (or the full download, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=25150). Suppose with any you'll end up with the same thing.

Re: 3.1.1 Bug

Win 7, more powerful CPU & more memory, does the same thing, but eventually it does return control. At first I thought it was locked up for good. Had enough time to open "whatishang" & then open three (as it was) DC hung "processes" & a bit after opening the third lis...
