Re: System for max speed?
I just tried DV version 4.1.4 on my SSD drive on T530 i5-3320M 2.6GHz Running windows on msata drive. Scanning windows partition on different 2.5" SSD drive that's not in use, 350,000 files, 43GB DV ran at 30 to 36% CPU utilization. Both SSDs have low utilization and speed during duplicate chec...

System for max speed?
I have several external hard drives that I will de-duplicate on a dedicated computer. I could use a Lenovo ThinkPad T430s i5-3320M with SSD, using it's USB 3.0 ports. Could I dedupe significantly faster if I got a faster desktop? What would I need without getting unneeded capacity? (buying a used on...

Re: Scan speed problem
Look at your disk utilization. Is that maxed out? Then the CPU availability won't matter.

Re: Pause only one disk while continuing to scan the other disk
Do you have 4 instances scanning the same 2 disks?
Does that improve the speed? I assumed that the slowest part was reading the drives, so that would not help. I haven't watched how much CPU the program uses.

Re: Feature request: Filter results based on keyword.
Plus an option to only apply the selection assistant command to the visible (filtered) items.
(Even now, sometimes I want to apply the result to the visible filtered cells but that can be done by selecting all and then checking "Work only on selected rows".)

Re: How to mark all except one in a -selected- folder?
Try: Selection assistant > Options > checkbox "Work only on currently selected rows"
Also, to protect a file, you can right-click "drop selected from list"

Re: Feature request: Paste a list of multiple scan locations at once.
Silly me, why don't I use the command line for that?! I haven't tried the Duplicate Cleaner command line yet. but could pass my list of folders from Excel to Duplcate Cleaner via the command line. (Although I would still like to have the ability to paste a list.)

Re: Feature request: Launch a new instance from selected items
Similarly, sometimes it would be useful to pass selected results to another program. i.e. a sync program or visual folder comparison program. (Obviously need one that accepts command line input.) Essentially have a custom export dialog where a user can enter and save (allow multiple configs): Prefix...

Feature request: Sort order of results.
(1) I'd like to be able to search by file size but still see the results by group. So that when I look at 0 byte or 43 byte files, I see them listed by group. (because I did byte by byte every file in each group has the same size). (2) I'd like to see the group with the largest impact, so sorting by...

Minor Bug. "Show folder in Win Explorer" fails when multiple folders selected.
Minor Bug. "Show folder in Win Explorer" fails when multiple folders selected. Scan Location tab > Folders To Search pane When multiple directories (folders) are selected, the right-click option "Show folder in Windows Explorer" exists but selecting it does nothing. It works for ...
