There isn't a way to do this in 'search' panel, but in the tree you can multi-select many subfolders by clicking on the first, then shift clicking on the last. Check the Windows event log. Also try unchecking 'via windows shell' - this can improve stablility on some systems.

Try shift-clicking the column header to sort by multiple columns

It doesn't use ffmpeg in the internal player - it uses Windows media.
You may need to add a codec to your system so Windows media player can play flac.

Yes, there are several cases where people want certain filenames to act as zip files.
It's probably best to add this as a custom setting in the presets area. I'll add it to the list!

One thing that may help is you can right click on a folder and select 'Locate folder in tree' (ctrl-l) - this will open the folder in the 'available folders' Pane.
