Re: Illegal Characters in Path

The CSV export issue has been fixed in v4.1.1 (not in the beta currently though). The removal issue hasn't been fixed, and probably can't be - the problem is that have one of the following characters in one of your file names: \ / : * ? | < > These are illegal in Windows but valid in Linux (for inst...

Re: path too long

It seems there is a path limit when moving files from zip files (note that it doesn't create a new zip - the files are copied as normal files).

Re: HEIC Support?

This is something we are currently looking into. HEIC support is fairly new to Windows so we're still researching a suitable way to incorporate this format into Duplicate Cleaner Image mode. Of course you can still find exact file HEIC duplicates using Regular Mode.

Re: Hard Links

Basically Hard links are a way of linking two or more files to the same source, or bit of data, of the drive. Beware though, as after linking changing one file will change all. From the manual: Hard links are only recommended for advanced users. A hard link is a directory entry for a file. Every fil...

Re: Changelog vs download (v4.1.1)

Sorry for the confusion - that date is for the beta release, which is available to try from the link below. I've put a note on the changelog page to clear things up. I had hoped to make the full release available yesterday, but am just sorting out a last-minute issue! See http://www.digitalvolcano.c...

Re: missed duplicate images

The file size difference is fine - it's to be expected if they are image duplicates but with different metadata, compression, resolution, etc.

Does changing the Similarity down (e.g. to 'Good match') improve things?

Re: missed duplicate images

If you post the section of your Duplicate Cleaner log file (in Documents) showing the settings for the newest scan that may help. Also check nothing is set to 'Master'

Re: missed duplicate images

Are you sure it is including the missing files in the scan? There could be several reasons- -System/hidden flag on folder (uncheck the 'Protect important folders' setting. -A criteria or option setting that is causing the files to be missed, such a file or date filter. See https://digvolsoft.freshde...

Re: Deleting Files

There is a 'No Warnings mode' mode proposed - possibly for version 4.2. This should do what you want hopefully!
