So, ideally, you would match via regular expression, and construct the output file name with $ macros something like this:

Match: [regular expression here] // if matched

output: $FOLDER-$HASH.$EXT // example 1

output: "My Prefix"-$HASH.$EXT // example 2

output: $HASH-"my postfix".$EXT // example ...

Heh, one last idea here...

Add the ability to match name replacements with a regular expression.
For instance, I want to replace all bad names like "02 (42).jpg", but not "Bob's 12th birthday.jpg"

Many of my image files have inconsistent naming. Having the hash for the file name would be great way to:
/1 disambiguate the image files
/2 create a unique name that doubles as an integrity check.

I would use this today on a tree of 150K image files.

I often do an exact match first, then follow it up with a 'very close match'. This seems to shrink the review phase of the very close match as I have already eliminated exact matches.

What would be useful is if 'very close match' was a true superset of exact match, such that if I do a 'very close ...

What I want to do looks like this:

I have thousands of photos spread across hundreds of folders.
I want to organize all photos into folders with the actor's name by face. For instance:

I spent 11 hours generating an 'image mode scan' and I'm worried that if I now do a 'regular mode' scan, I'll lose all that 'image mode scan' database that was generated.

I download many video collections, often times the folder is a different name, and the ancillary files within the folder are different.

Even when DC correctly detects the duplicate file, I still need to locate the old folder name and cleanup it manually.
