Re: Include hidden folders in "Scan location"

"-Turn off the 'Options->Protect important system folders' setting before the scan" I did try that and it didn't help. "-Or, set the parent folder to 'Scan subfolders' = No, and then add all the child folders into the list underneath manually" Well, there were 250+ individual hid...

Re: Include hidden folders in "Scan location"

I had 250+ hidden folders and used Windows Explorer to change the Hidden property to false for all the folders (you can do it for all at once).

DCP is now finding the duplicates.

There does seem to be some type of problem/bug with hidden folders.

Re: Include hidden folders in "Scan location"

No, there were no other folders below the hidden folder. "try unchecking the 'protect important system folders' Option" I tried that and it didn't help. Try this test: 1. Below any folder create a subfolder and mark the folder as hidden. 2. Copy a file from the folder to the hidden subfold...

Re: Include hidden folders in "Scan location"

I explicitly included a hidden folder in the Folders to Search and the program still did not include the files within the hidden folder in the search. However, when I went into Windows and unchecked the Hidden property of the folder and re-ran the search, then all the duplicate files were found. Thi...

Re: Questions about searching for duplicate JPG files

Thanks for the help, Rube. Yes, I have noticed that the Image searches take longer. I have done as you said and used the Regular mode to find exact duplicates which is quick. Afterwards, I found a set of duplicates searching manually using Windows Explorer where the photos looked almost identical. T...

Questions about searching for duplicate JPG files

Hello,
I love this program because of its speed and design.
Should Image Mode always be used when searching for duplicate JPGs?
Would there ever be reasons/circumstances where Regular Mode would also be used for JPGs?
Thank you.

Re: Find same picture but different Exif data?

"Image Mode in Duplicate Cleaner Pro will do this - you can compare just the image and it will ignore the tags and exif data." Thank you for the reply, but I don't want to ignore tags and exif data. I want to find files which have the same image but one has exif or tags and one doesn't. Th...

Find same picture but different Exif data?

1. Is there a way to find pictures (into a group) where the pictures are the same but one has Exif data added (like tags)?

2. Is there a way to find pictures (into a group) where the pictures are the same except one has had a caption/text added?

Thank you.

Deleting duplicate folders

Can DC actually delete folders themselves, assuming all the files in the folder are duplicates?

Thank you.
