Looks like there is a bug with cleaning up the temporary hardlink files when there is a lock on the file - it should just fail with no temporary file created as a don't think you can hardlink a locked file.
I've logged the bug!

Yes, it was removed again when the program was switched over to using a database. Currently the program isn't set up to use different database files, and running two sessions would write to the same data table, causing problems! Something to review in the next major version.

Yes it ignores them . I can't recall at the minute whether they are written to the log file (if enabled). Probably something to look in to!
