Once you have performed a scan you can now select files to delete, move or hard link.  If in doubt, leave a file alone. To mark a file, in the 'Duplicate Files' tab either click on the checkbox or use the right-click context menu. You can also double click on a file to open it in it's native application for further investigation.

Selection options available from the right-click context menu:

  • Mark all duplicate files in this folder
  • Mark all duplicate files in this folder tree
  • Mark all files that duplicate this folder elsewhere
  • Mark all files that duplicate this folder tree elsewhere
• Unmark
  
  • Unmark all files of this Type
  • Unmark all duplicate files in this folder
  • Unmark all duplicate files in this folder tree
  • Unmark all files that duplicate this folder elsewhere
  • Unmark all files that duplicate this folder tree elsewhere
• Unmark All
• Invert Marked Selection

The Selection Assistant can also help with the marking or unmarking of files. Click on the button in the top toolbar. It can-

• Select oldest or newest date created/modified in each group
• Select smallest or largest file size in each group
• Select all but one file in each group
• Select shortest or longest file names in each group
  
• Select by a text pattern in a specified results column (eg. '\temp\' or '.bak')
  
• Select by Location - This option will preserve the files in the selected path by selecting the files that duplicate them in other locations. The '>' button pastes the name of the currently highlighted path in the duplicates list.

Additionally, when in  audio tag reading mode you can select for deletion by audio tags. Options are-

• Keep highest bit rate
• Keep highest sample rate
• Keep longest length

The selection assistant has an option (at the bottom) to limit any marking/unmarking to the current highlighted (selected) rows in the list.

When you are happy with your selection, click on the 'File Removal...' button to begin the next stage of the process.
