Maximum Duplicate Files Option Missing

Hello,

I read in the manual there is supposed to be an option under the Advanced tab for setting the maximum number of files to scan. I do not have this option and I am using the Pro version. Is there another setting that needs to be enabled before the setting appears?

Side note: I had a large scan that had been running for about 48 hours. At about 80% complete Duplicate Cleaner Pro must have shutdown on its own with no error. So I'd like to try using the Maximum Duplicate Files setting to make the scan in smaller chunks.

Thank you.

I think this option was removed a couple of years ago (around 4.0.3), sorry about that - it looks like that manual page hasn't been updated.

Alternate ways to limit the scope of the search include restricting to certain file categories in each scan (e.g. Images, documents), or limiting the number of input folders. If it has shut down unexpectedly sometime the Windows event log can give a clue as to the cause.
